Random thought of the moment...

Phew!! It took almost five days to plough my way through this thread. It was like a kind of surrealistic soap opera in which I couldn't wait to see what would come next and yet much of it is perfectly ordinary and everyday stuff. I hope you don't mind me butting in.

I have been looking at it at work mostly as I cannot get around as well as I should. I sprained my ankle (although most people seem to withhold most of their sympathy when they find out I did it in Maui).
 
Teenagers! I saw a girl waiting for the bus in -20C with a stiff breeze blowing and she was wearing capri pants, little black slipper-type shoes, a short, barely insulated jacket, no gloves and no toque. Kids that age seem to value looking cool rather than staying warm.

Outta see them here 29 deg F and they are out in shorts and tank tops, with flip flop sandles on

I've seen the same thing here at -10C (14 deg F). Their philosophy seems to be that as long as the sun is shining and it isn't actively snowing, then it must be summer!
