Brrrrrrrrrrr!
In a word ..... brrrrrrrrrrr!
In Midland Michigan, it is colder than a well diggers bum (5 degrees with a wind chill below zero), the sky is partly clear and there is still over a foot and a half of snow on the ground. Main routes (and the interstate), have been cleaned and side roads in the country still have a glaze coating where the plows scraped the top layers and left at least 3-4 inches of snow that ends up being packed by traffic into a layer of ice. Some areas have over two foot of snow from wind driven snow that has piled up into drifts .. some of which impinge onto the roads - it just depends how many trees there are to make windbreaks.
One of the biggest dangers that has cropped up this Winter, is from black ice that has appeared on interstate {US-10 [E/W]) between Midland Michigan and Bay City Michigan and a few places (bridges mostly), on interstate I-75 [N/S].
