A Thread about... NOTHING!

hmmm.... a job where i can do my favourite thing: get filthy dirty and f*ck around with metal versus money... tough one.

Hey Fox you know anything about Chain link fence or welding?
there might be an opening on my crew later this year or next July

I was an "A" straight student in welding class for 3 years at high school. I'm considering that welding would possible be my major in college.

Ok how about fencing?
I also do playgrounds football, field hockey, soccer (etc) all sports goals, benches, picnic tables, basically all the outside stuff for 99 school sites, also you must be able to qualify as a CPSI withing 6 months of employment.
As for welding we do arc, heliarc, mig tig brazing plasma cutting, and general machine shop work.
I think the yard super has a requirement about being able to forge a ball peen hammer out of a RR tie LOL.

(btw CPSI = Certified Playground Safety Inspector)

Fence is the easy part, you learn as you go, the CPSI is a 3 day class with a 100 question test that you can only miss 5 out of a 100 on, I've seen people with PhD's fail it, in fact after 20 years in the military I only got a 73%.
Thank God for the children I'm one of those who can do it and not test on it huh?

I've always been like that, when I was 8 I took my dads brand new riding mower apart and put it back together and it ran better than it did before. I can basically build anything out of nothing to the point my shop motto in the navy was as follows" we the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible with nothing, we have done so much with so little for so long, we are qualified to do anything, with nothing."
True to this day too, today I made a playground hand rail out of a old metal shovel handle, complete with the vinal covering to make it safe for little hands :)
Tomorrow, we build a flag pole for the Veterans memorial out of baseball backstop poles. It has to be able to withstand a cat 4 hurricane just to pass MY requirements
