3rd Canadian Division, possibly the 8th brigade? north of Caen

Pretty good, but I want the name of the regiment and the exact place. I have decided to becomee fussy in my old age!!

Dean.

The North Nova Scotia Highlanders and the 27th Canadian Armoured Regiment (Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment) of Brigadier D.G. Cunningham's 9th Canadian Infantry Brigade southeast of Creully.

Or... Two troops of tanks of the 1st Hussars did however reach the objective at Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse.

Of course I do (he said with a snide smile while googleing it!) It was known as the Battleaxe Division, and the 11th Brigade consisted of the
2nd Battalion, the Lancashire Fusiliers, the 1st Battalion, the East Surrey Regiment and the 5th Battalion, and the Northamptonshire Regiment.

And no, I don't know everything, but I am really really good with search terms.

Dean.

Oh, and BTW, Yahoo is generally better with these types of searches.

Your correct, next question ;-)

And with the answer of the Hussar's tanks, Bulldogg can now ask his next question. Well done!

Dean.

Cheers mate... alrighty then here we go.

What major goal of Operation August Storm was not achieved by the Soviet Army?

Before I do any research, I'll take one shot in the dark. Was it that they (the Soviets) never took all of Korea?

Dean.

Well, to answer your question, The name in Deutsch is Totenkopf and they are under the command of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler

A ZB-30 Machinegun Team of the Totenkopf in action, France 1940.

SS-TOTENKOPF DIVISION YES but Himmler was not their immediate commander. He was Alsatian born. The divisions brutal architect. A nasty bit of work!

Thanks for the pics zander!!!

And yes I will wait patiently for a question.

Operation Dietrich was the name given to the clandestine operation mounted by high-level Nazi party members to go to the local movie theatre and have a private viewing of the movies Pittsburgh and The Spoilers, both of which featured characters played by Marlene Dietrich. It seems that Hermann Goering was a big fan of hers and wanted to initate Hitler to her charms....

...never mind.

Dean.
