...listening to a great concert I would have liked to go to, but could not for solidarity:
JC ruined a friend of mine in the late 70s/early 80s (don´t recall the exact year, 80 would be my guess) by - completely drunk - falling of his barstool on stage just after starting a concert which my friend had organized in Frankfurt/Main and subsequently not finishing it, i.e. not performing not one single song (any FFM AB stationed GI´s of this decade will know my friend, "Bombolo", or if not himself then his places: "Why Not" Discotheque, "Chez Bombolo" Restaurant in Sachsenhausen, or e.g. the first German "Hard Rock Cafe" in Frankfurt, he brought over the chain from the states).
End of song, money had to be paid back to the audience, money had been paid in advance for organization, security, rent etc. my friend ended up fairly broke (recovered - and well so - 20 yrs later), so I could simply not go to see the 92 tour of JC (and by then he was already a "mainstream" guy anyway).
Still, great performance and great concert, today I am sad I did not go.
Enjoy!
