So you think Trump is waging a trade war on Canada? Think again!

No I think Trump is shooting his mouth off to cause the maximum worldwide chaos and the best thing the world could do to deal with it is cut him from all news feeds and ignore him.

Monty, you may be right about Trump, but I will give him credit where they are warranted. He has exposed the extent to which Canada is economically, politically, and militarily fractured. That said, I must concede that Canadians are more emotionally united than ever before.

Trump is following the Nazi play book to a tee (this not the same as saying he is a Nazi).

Two points stand out:

1. "Naturally the common people don't want war . . . but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or parliament or a communist dictatorship. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

2. A big lie (German: große Lüge) is a gross distortion or misrepresentation of the truth primarily used as a political technique. The German expression was first used by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf (1925) to describe how people could be induced to believe so colossal a lie because they would not believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously". Hitler claimed that the technique had been used by Jews to blame Germany's loss in World War I on German general Erich Ludendorff, who was a prominent nationalist political leader in the Weimar Republic.

I am pleased Canada has united against his BS, I am hoping a coalition of the tarrifed forms to ignore his nonsense.

The Illusion of “Sunny Ways”: A Political Reflection

Twelve years ago, in 2013, I actively participated in Justin Trudeau’s campaign, going door to door in Montreal to raise funds on his behalf., only to get rid of Stephen Harper. When Trudeau was eventually elected, I genuinely believed in the promise of “sunny ways.” However, today, I am profoundly disheartened to witness the extent to which Canada has been economically, politically, and militarily fractured as a result of his leadership. The lesson to be learned: never place blind trust in politicians.

Just a quick question, when has any politician anywhere delivered on the promise of "sunny days"?
The only difference between today's politician and that of 40 years ago is that 40 years ago they would resign when they got caught now they just don't care if they are caught.
If you want fix politics forget fixing politicians they are a waste of time, fix the flow of money as that is the problem.
