Which culture circle possessed the greatest military power during the middle ages? I think it was the europeans.

It is not just about conquering the territory it is also about holding it. Now there four countries that stand out during this time. Portugal, Spain, France and England and their influence still can be felt across the world in their language and customs

What were the great conquests of the Spaniards, French, Portuguese and British within the time range of 900AD to 1400AD (<--Also known as the Middle Ages)??

Now I'm not discounting the great empires and achievements forged by those four nations post-Renaissance. But in general, the Renaissance is considered the ending point of the Middle Ages.
