Howdy there Highway Man.. how it goes in fairy tale land? (land of Kings, Queens, Princesses.. and all that Royal jazz)...Sometimes I wonder if we (USA) could use a little more fantasy every now and then.. goodness knows we could use a little more good dreams in this world. I know I could anyway..
I'm sorry you're going through this right now. It sounds like he was a really good friend to you and you to him.. Hope you're feeling better soon .. God bless and know that you have friends here who care.
I admire and have always respected professions where your job becomes like a second family. I know it's this way in many, mostly the dangerous ones where you are responsible for keeping each other alive in many circumstances. The military instills this from the very beginning, as do many other professions including the police force, firefighters, unions.. etc... this is what I've heard it's like. Not all the same of course but still "brothers" through passion for their jobs and genuine care for each other. A feeling of responsibility which goes above and beyond.
Thinking of all of those who've given their lives helping others tonight and those they loved and left behind.. Godspeed to all of them and comfort to the ones they loved and loved them, worked alongside them and knew them as no one else.
Take care Highway Man.. and may each day that passes bring you more peace.
