Starting Weapons?

i would say the Berretta 9mm handgun, easy weapon system to learn and besides a Glock this style of weapon is most common, as for rifles i agree with the AR-15, it's a great all purpose rifle that will stay with you untill you are an expert marksman
 
If you really want to get good, just start slow. A buckmark pistol and ruger 10/22 should do you just fine. It will teach you the basics of handling and maintaining a firearm, and the low recoil of the .22 lr will help an inexpirienced shooter gain accuracy and confidence. Then you can work your way up to bigger calibers. Joining special ops is very difficult and you need many years in the service to get to that point. Taking a life is no joke though and you need to think about if you will be ready to do it when the time comes.
