So why do people hate Israel?

Well then if by Australia's numbers, Israel should get another 70 years or so before they have to start paying reparations. Then lets see, if it weren't for the U.S. and their assistance to The Crown 39-45, Australia would be Japanese territory. So if the U.S. can sacrifice it's soldiers to help save the British Empire, then I think she can and has earned the right to VETO anything they so desire.

What British Empire? That was on the way out well before WW2 broke out. Do you in all honesty think the Japanese could have invaded Australia and held it?

Australia, no longer being a member of the "British Empire", elected to become a member of the British Commonwealth (a purely voluntary organisation) in 1931, and retain our connections with Britain, something that remains to this day.

These people have no understanding of the differences or the implications.

I attended a sort of military school in Israel. I don't remember much of it but for me it was not so bad. It was tediously depressing. I rememeber seeing a little boy with no teeth at all, as well as packs of wild dogs circling the school. I also remember there being an abadoned parking lot beside it. It was really creepy.
It sounds disgusting, even for Israel, as I've always been of the opinion that they treat Zionists and their supporters very well and share a high standard of living.

That unfortunately, is not what this is all about though, we are more interested in Israel's total disregard for International law and the findings of bodies like the UN Security Council and General Assembly with regard to Human Rights abuses of the Palestinian people.

.

Quite frankly I was disgusted the way Australia and New Zealand were treated by Britain when Britain joined the European community, I for one would like to see Britain pull out of the EEC (or whatever they call themselves nowadays) and regain the trade Britain had with Australia, New Zealand and other commonwealth countries.

Cameron has stated that he will hold a referendum on continued membership of the EEC, I'll be interested to see if he has the guts to do it.

Off Topic, my apologies.

Staying off topic but what the hell we have got no where withthe last one in 159 pages. :)

I am not sure why you would be concerned about how we were treated, we are independant nations and should have taken the opportunity to cut the apron strings to Britain.

I am very much a republican and would like to see us ditch the monarchy all together, this is not to say we need to break ties to Britain as it is a huge part of our history but we do need to grow up and leave home some time.

LOL.... God I love it. This thread seems to be more of a Nazi Party page, than anything of substance. Neither of you could even get by with out trying to insult a young lady.

I have been to both NZ & Aus. I have friends in both. I work with several of their citizens. We are employed by the same company. They will with out a doubt, be impressed by you both...

One quick ?, why did the PM of Aus, and the Aus Military, set up the deal that is building a base in Aus for the US? When the facility is done, it is supposed to house 10,000 plus Americans?

Just Curious

I don't know honestly. It would of depended on other outcomes. I would hope not, but war is war. If the American Navy wouldn't have come into play, the Japanese would not have had the troubles they came to have. I imagine it would have been a bloody mess, and the Imperial Japan had no qualms of killing anyone in their sites. If they would have not had to fight the U.S. also, their supply lines would not of been cut. Then they could have had impeded resupply to the Aus front, and if attrition went their way, well maybe. As for what did happen, we know. Aussie troops pushed them back and they had to deal with the US.
With what I said, it was directed to the Nazi from Aus. He apparently has never been to Israel, and is so foolish, he can't even admit that the U.S. was instrumental in the Allies winning WWII.
My original post stated simple truths, and he could only come back calling my daughter names.

Here.... Any of you that are willing to put your money where your mouths are....

I will be in Israel in July, for most of the month. If you are willing to fly there, you can stay in my home, and I will gladly give you an escort around. Wherever you want to go, and you can meet and talk to the people that live there. Arabs, Jews, Christians. We will go to the camps, and to the businesses, the churches, mosques, medical clinics, and hospitals. Where ever. But we go 1 for 1. If we spend the day in the Strip, we spend a day talking to Arabs and Palestinians in Israel too. If we talk to 10 Pals, then we will talk to 10 Christians and 10 Jews.
That way you can make a fair and reasonable judgement on you own accord. With out actually seeing it with your own eyes, you can not appreciate the actual truth of what is going on there.
Again, you fly yourself there, I will provide you a room, food, and your escort around. The places we go, like I said, will be EVENLY chosen by you and myself.
But remember, if you chose to go to the West Bank, check with your life insurance policy holder. Some policies are voided if you willingly visit places like that.
Also, if we are put into a violent situation, if you do NOT expressly follow my orders, I will not be responsible for your butt.
If interested, send me a message. And be willing to post it here, so all the other members know that you are going.

Wow, the Holy Trinity is back in business. Present are the UK, the country that started the process of giving the Jews their land back, they took the task of the Palestine Mandate and neglected to accomplish it. Why? Because the Jews were a minority? Couldn't be, because they put minority governments in any country they established in the ME. Their officers commanded the Jordanian troops who attacked Israel. It was the only country who approved the annexation of Judea and Samaria by Jordan and abstained during the vote to admid Israel to the UN (and put pressure on commonwealth nations to do the same). Israel was alone in defending their newly born state, while Britain was fighting limited wars all over the Arabian peninsula and kicked out of Egypt. None of those places were theirs. Also present new Zealand and Australia. Both descendants of Europeans with no historical nor religious connection whatsoever to the country they now live in while demonising people who do have a historical AND religious connection to the land they now live in. Hypocrites. They also love to make facts out of opinions, post fake pictures and quotes, and call shooting rockets at civilian towns and school buses defense. Go figure!

Aww look VD has a friend and now he is getting brave.

Your problem is that 80% of the world have as much historical and religious claim to the region now called Israel and that includes the previous inhabitants aka the Palestinians (you know the ones that apparently don't exist in your world) as the Europeans that through Western guilt allowed into the area now called Israeli's although 70 years ago were called Polish, German, Russian and a host of other nationalities, the so called Israeli claim to a DNA link to the region is nothing more than background noise based on the fact that Ancient Canaan was probably the first place, outside of Africa, where ancient man first became "settled" another words we all came from there and it explains why the majority of the worlds population (not just Jews but Asians, Europeans more than likely Aboriginies and Polynesians as well) can trace its DNA to the region, it will be one crowded place if we all go "home" wont it.

On the bright side I see the Europeans have an interesting plan to cut all funding to both parties in this conflict in order to force them to a genuine negotiating table by essentially forcing Israel to take over responsibility for the Palestinians financially, I wonder if America can afford that?

Incidentally you once asked us to show you the ancient Palestinian capital how about you first show us the capital of Israel from 100 years ago?

Well, another snide remark.

I wish the Europeans would cut their funding to BOTH sides.

I wish the U.S. would cut it's funding to all the other people with their hands out.

Snide remarks are all that is left when neither side is listening and everything has been said a thousand times over.
This is a thread that should have been closed and stickied about 150 pages ago.

Besides it is hard to take anything VD says at face value when he is clearly making up his persona.

A match made in heaven, sorta like Magda Goebbels meets Rudolph Hoess.

If you take a look at the statistics there was a long period when this thread was just about all that kept the Forum going.

Just what everyone wants, a guided tour around the World's fourth most despised State by a supporter of the regime that makes Nazi Germany look better every day.
It might be worthwhile if they had an Israeli War Crimes Museum.... that could take up a few days.

I was invited to the Wedding of my "Cousin" Sarah to Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx (a full time Jewish scholar) at Kibbutz Ramat Rachel Hotel in Jerusalem in 1999. They are both active members of B'tselem, I'm sure that would have been far more pleasant but I declined that too it would have ruined one of the pages of my Passport and given the Israelis another Passport to falsify and use to commit further crimes around the world.

That's OK, you probably would get yourself, or worse, me, killed. Have a Merry Christmas.

The offer is still open to anybody else.
Of you, I have no doubt, and that is perfectly understandable, but my main risk would be being in your company, my B'tselem patch would keep me out of most harm except perhaps from those charming Israeli "settlers".

I wouldn't worry a great deal, I've always managed so far. I think that places like Point Noire, in the Congo would put any perceived danger found anywhere in Palestine decidedly in the shade.

To a large degree it still is however part of me thinks it may also be one of the reasons for the forum drop off.
Seems to me that every Israeli that has taken part in this thread ran off screaming "anti-semetic" at the first sign of return fire which despite being kind of amusing for the likes of you and I probably does little for the forums popularity.

One day I will return but having been there in July/August this year and already having plans for Turkey next year and Germany the year after that I doubt it will be before 2016 as part of an Egypt vacation.
As for the rest given the friendliness of the Palestinians I met on the last trip I doubt either of us are in any real danger from them so I assume you mean the occupation forces?

I can't really see it. Israelis and their Hasbara Troll mates, have only ever been an absolutely miniscule part of the membership compared with the total active membership say, 6 years ago, and I think that it would be fair to say that, by far the greatest majority of that membership never showed the slightest interest in this subject.

I think that if you care to leaf through the Membership list there are a lot of names who were long gone before either of us even arrived on the scene, the other thing you will note is that we have also lost just as many who were anti Zionist in their views.

My personal opinion is that we attract a lot of "teenage and twenties" members, and this is a volatile age group who eventually find more interesting pursuits like women, Marriage and families, I can name several where I know this to be the case as I have remained in touch with them.

I'd say that the majority of those few pro Zionist members drifted away, because they realised that they were facing more than an audience whose head they could fill with the standard issue of Israeli lies and distortions. Put simply, facing the obvious truth just got too much for them.

I do know that the forum went through a very turbulent stage several years ago where many active members were so put out, that they actually started their own "Social Group" on Farcebook, with a view to starting their own site, and withdrew from participation here. I was invited to join, and no doubt you were also, I became a member but found that it could not hold my interest as it was once again focused on a far younger age group and social dynamic.

I was in effect talking about trade between the UK, Australia and new Zealand. I have no idea how much trade the Aussies and Kiwi's lost when Britain became a member of the EEC, but I have heard it was considerable. I would like to see closer trade ties. As a matter of interest when Britain voted during a referendum to join the EEC, according to government there was an overwhelming vote to join, yet after the vote I asked a number of people if they voted to join, everyone apart from one chap voted a resounding "no."

I am very much a republican and would like to see us ditch the monarchy all together, this is not to say we need to break ties to Britain as it is a huge part of our history but we do need to grow up and leave home some time.

I not too fond of the monarchy either, I was at one time a staunch royalist, now I wouldn't urinate on them if they were on fire.

Leaving the US Navy out of the picture for the moment, if the Japanese had invaded Australia, the country is so vast and desolate in places (according to lessons learned at school) the Japanese could never survive, their supply lines would be impossibly long.

I'm certainly not your average Monarchist, and they don't really worry me one way or the other, as they cost me almost nothing and they really don't influence Australian political or social life to any degree. To me their role negates the necessity for us to have another overpaid "Job for the Boys" where we continue to provide an overinflated income for some burned out politician who is already on a six figure retirement plan with free perks for life.

Like yourself I was becoming pretty disillusioned with with the Royals, but of late I feel the newer generation have certainly pulled their weight and shown themselves to be very capable. I'm turning again.

Unfortunately even with the Royals we've also got jobs for the boys. A certain peer attends the House of Lords for half an hour so that he can claim his £300 for turning up and then claims when confronted "It was his right," and then got all bitter and twisted that he was confronted by a journalist. Its sick that government will only pay an elderly pensioner something like £100 a week, yet pays those tosser peers who were never elected by the public £300 for half an hour sitting in the House of Lords.
