So why do people hate Israel?

It would be more interesting to follow up on the surveys. There were two here now. Do you have more than two? To see if the view changes over a longer period of time, further, to see if an "event" influences the perception of Israel/Israelis and Palestine/Palestinians

I found a link (here) where you can see the results of the same poll over different years. The general impression is that Israel gets a little better and the Palestinians a little worse. I think this is because of the relentless rocket attacks on Israeli civilian towns and the sermons to destroy Israel. Most people see the Israeli attacks as a retaliation.
We have to wait to see if Khaled Mashal succeeds in stopping the rocket attacks and to transform the anger in peaceful demonstrations.
I hope he can, because then we will see who the culprit was.

I agree with you, however, these surveys, similar as the surveys prior an election only show an indication of people's opinions

Correct, a poll , like a plan, is never foolproof. But without it you are blind. They do give you a better view of what is going on than pro or contra media.

So what is going on here, I do not know, I can not comprehend their language. They can be arguing about a goat? Or the price of tea in China.......
The title might be a good clue,... also notice the Hebrew/English comment below about "Judenrein".

Here's a similar gathering of "peaceful Settlers" deliberately provoking the Palestinians in Hebron.

Much better, thank you, mate. My Hebrew/Arabic is non existent

Another reason why people hate Israel is envy.

According to anti-zionists this tiny country is able to put a lot of pressure on a big superpower! There are worldwide 13,5 million jews. 5,7 million live in Israel and 5,3 million live in the USA. And those 5,3 million are able to put a lot of pressure on 312 million americans. Quite a performance I must say.
There are worldwide 11 milion Palestinians, 7,5 million of them live in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. They are not able to put pressure on any country.

In 1948 Israel was attacked by Palestinian regulars and armies from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. The plan: destroy Israel. Result: humiliation. The Arabs tried it several times again to no avail. A tiny country beating the Arab world each and every time. Later on superpower USA supplied Israel with weapons. Superpower USSR supplied the Arabs with weapons and pilots, still to no avail. At last Jordan and Egypt made peace with Israel. They lived very peacefull after that. Syria is technically still at war with Israel but doesn't attack. They are left alone by Israel. Arafat made peace with Israel and the people in the West Bank live rather peacefully, except for some annoying settlers and checkpoints to catch terrorists. Only Hamas keeps on fighting and gets beaten each and every time.

In 1948 there could have been two more states. Israel accepted and started building. The Palestinians refused and lived in misery. The World Bank estimates the nominal GDP (in millions of USD) of the Palestinian territories at 13.000 and of Israel at 217.333. Per capita these numbers are respectively 2,900 US$ and 32,297 US$ per year. Do not forget that they both lived in the same region and that the split was made according to population.
Oh, sorry, I forgot the blockade. It is estimated that Israeli businesses lost $2 million a day from the closing while Gaza was losing approximately $1 million a day. (The New York Times, September 19, 2007)

Israel builds its own missiles, so do the Palestinians. Israel has state of the art AA and AS missiles and even an anti-BM system. The Palestinians are still making WWII era Katyusha rockets. Israel uses its GPS and laser guide missiles to destroy specific Hamas targets. Because they hide themselves among the civilian population , innocent civilians die. The Palestinian rockets are unguided and only used against Israeli civilian towns, only innocent civilians die.

Last but not least, famous jews. Unfortunately the list is to long, so I give a link. And here's a list of Palestinians. I don't know many of them, and here is a list of Arab scientists and scholars, all lived a long time ago.

There is no other way to describe these animals. They steal and occupy the land of another people whilst being protected by the IDF who protect them but not the Palestinians, and not satisfied with that, they insist on provoking the owners by demonstrating that with an armed escort they are free to follow them to their new homes and deliberately humiliate them further.

These same mongrels are the first to scream for the sympathy vote when a suicide bomber kills some of their number, by claiming "but we are civilians".

And some here wonder why people have no sympathy for Israel and why it and it's followers are despised and detested around the world.

Hi everybody i don't claim to be expert on these issue but what i know as a Indian what it takes to live with such hostile neighbors...I respect what Israelis do...i have sympathy for them...but yes there are other feasible options that could minimize this whole damn thing.
shooting n blowing up is not the solution ,it is the final option when all other measures have failed.

To my American and Australian friends with all respect you guys will not understand how difficult it is to manage a country when all your neighbors care is to destroy you...its not your fault as you have been raised in a country where no major war happened on its soil and their are no hostile nations as neighbors...you don't know the hell it takes to preserve one culture when you are under continuous attack thruout your history....

I don't understand why should people hate Israel...yes critical may be the term..

If you don't understand this you obviously know nothing of what is going on there. If someone occupied your country and then continues to steal more land whilst, harassing, beating and murdering the owners of that land, just for resisting I think the word critical would be a rather stupid understatement, as is much of the criticism leveled at Israel.

In a case such as this, hatred is most certainly the right word.

The Palestinian people have every legal and moral right to resist the theft of their land and murder of their people with every thing they have. If for example, the UN made a ruling that China had a 2000 year old claim to India because their god told them it was theirs, and then allowed them to flood into your country doing what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians would you hate them or just be critical of them. Would you resist or would you allow them to reduce you to the living standards of animals?

I may have failed to see the logic behind it cause Jews are fighting muslim which is the same case here though we are not fighting muslims but a hostile muslim terrorist state.

It's not a question of what religion the combatants follow.

It's about what is legally and morally right in a civilised world. It would be no different if it were Catholics against Bhuddists.

The Israelis try to complicate the issue, whereas in fact it is an open and shut case. The modern Israelis have no place in Palestine, it is not their country and never has been, even though some of their ancestors did live there as a minority prior to the Diaspora. My ancestors lived in England and Holland, but that gives me no right to go there and kill the people who live where my ancestors did 400 years ago.

From what i understand now is that there is no way this could end only coexistence will help.
Like any other problem, it has a perfectly logical solution, but it's just that Israel is not interested. The errors which have been made must be undone.

Yes, it will be hard, but that is only because the Israelis deliberately set out to make it hard. They bought these problems on themselves, and now they want the world to sympathise with them.

The problem that you are going to find with Seno, is he is still living in the past (which is what terrorists do); how things came to be, instead of the future to see how can we make it better. He ignores that in reality most countries would do what Israel is doing right now if placed in the same position and being surrounded by enemies who want you gone simply because you are a people they do not like having a country near (Jews). Calling them animals makes me wonder what people think makes humans so superior to it (except for thumbs and a brain). Many humans do what animals do all the time...

I do not call anyone animal, even if they done the most damning thing. It is after all in human nature.

It just wont be successful doing the "give the land back" option.

Bravo!.... That must be the first sensible thing you've said in this thread. I could not have said it more succinctly myself.

The problem being that we need more people who behave like human beings and less who behave like animals.
