Ok, it's active as of 2000. However, it carries half the planes, crew, and weapons of most US carriers...though it would blow a Russian carrier out of the water which is the overall point...http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/gaulle/

Yeah i think we haveall agreed American carriers are superior to Russian ones.
