Now that Bush is re-elected with more power..

USA dont have any power to invade a even bigger and more powerfull country.. like Iran or NK, he will if Iraq is going to get stable.

The deficit, the political pressure will stop Bush & Co. from making further harsh decisions. I don't believe he will rush into the next dilemma.

But maybe that's just my optimism. :?

But there is no specific unit that is designed to deal with terrorism, normal troops just don't cut it.

There are plenty.

How big is that force fighting in afganistan? how many special anti-terrorist squads are there?

what is your definition of "dealing with terrorism"?

i know there are troops in Afganistan to fight terrorism, but I am pushing for an Elite Division of Super marines level of training, designed purely to fight terrorism. They will not be deployed as soldiers but as special ops...in BIG numbers

More European leaders have to reassess the power that have been given president George W Bush by the american people. It is a clear signal to them that they have to reassess their attitude towards the president of the united states of america. They have been fools to support one side all this time, but there is no surprise for me as a person. The question about president George W Bush getting even more hated I can´t see.

That man is as hated as a human being can be allready. But one thing is positive. That is that alot of the silent majority finaly went of their buts and voted in favour for the president. I am pretty sure on the fact that president George W Bush will do alot of dressed preventive work with the economy and other importent domestic issues under this 4 years to come. America is a very strong country and the will of the millions that voted this time have shown to the worlds leaders that they support the president and his work with fighting the terrorism and keeping one nation in this world safe.

But if European leaders ever will have a chance to get the President of the United States attention in future international security and financial questions they have to crawl to the cross and stop acting bullying against the american people and it´s commander in cheif. They have to face the facts that president George W Bush is a president with very strong support from the people. I could only dream of a similar leader in Europe. The U.S should be proud over this election and start acting as one people and one nation again. My two cents from sweden ;)

To the leaders of Europe I just have two things to say. BIG SMILE BIG SMILE!

Delta Force and the SAS(I think that's right) are the first ones that come to mind. They are 100% nothing but counter-terrorism.

Most Americans still trust Bush, that's why he's re-elected.

You can consider Bush a very prominent US president among many former presidents... whether people like him or not.

Excuse me Redneck, but that's his view...
You cannot ban someone because he has different views on politics than You. But I think You already did that, once.

Do you honestly believe you would ever get an answer to this question by anyone that would know? Look up the term OPSEC.

i know there are troops in Afganistan to fight terrorism, but I am pushing for an Elite Division of Super marines level of training, designed purely to fight terrorism. They will not be deployed as soldiers but as special ops...in BIG numbers

You have seen far too many movies. "Special Ops" personel are soldiers, airmen, Marines and sailors. There is no such thing as a "super soldier" or "super Marine."

"BIG" numbers come from conventional forces, SOF is not meant to be large, and increasing the size of SOF units too much leads to watered down training and standards and less force effectiveness.

What? your pushing for an Elite Division of Super Marines? Are you on the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

We have units and training already that address this the War on Terror. They are very capable and the reason you don't know about them is called OPSEC.

Won't be deployed as soliders but as Spec-Op's really uhmm. Maybe I missed something but................. Military Operators are Soliders, Sailors, Marines and Airmen assigned to Spec Op's.

Off-topic, but I feel that I need to reply to this one.

He was NOT temporary banned just because of that post, but for several violations of the forum rules, and for ignoring PMs and posted warnings.

We do NOT ban people for their opinions, but for the way they present them, and Redneck is not alone when it comes to deciding if we're going to (temporary) ban someone or not.

Please PM me if you have any questions to this.

Let's continue on-topic here from now on.

Thanks.

Well Doc.S, I'd say I enjoyed reading your post.

Then again I think there was another effect. I think the European endorsement of Kerry backfired because of the European attitude towards the US in general. I have noticed (as it's not hard) that a great deal of Americans actually feel that the French and the Germans are actually enemies of sorts. For right or wrong is irrelevent here.
So as they endorsed Kerry, and Kerry went over and said a few things in French he distanced himself with the American neutrals.

If Americans feel bad for what their president did, they want to feel and talk about it themselves, they don't want some Frenchman with his nose pointing to the sun going on about "you foolish Americans... now that you know you were wrong and we were right, you should listen to us."
Actually an Oxford professor did this to try to convince people in Ohio it seems (according to an article I read on www.slate.msn.com) by sending letters about this to people's homes. Clearly infuriated the Americans.

So the rest of us can learn something from this too. Let's mind our own business.
We got 4 more years of this guy so we got to make the most of it. He's got an image to fix. We've got some alliances to mend because whether we like it or not, we actually still need America.

:D

Well I have seen the reactions from our primeminister to the EU parlament and you can make the simile shame on you doggy look in every singel member of that club as I see it. I dont find it to hard to see why americans in sweden is so disliked by the young political active left wing though, our socialist gov is only existing because of two other partys, the green party = Kyoto agreement and the Left wing Party = Have a partyleader that is communist and is proud of it and the young left wing tells their members that Cuba is a democracy.

I am living far behind "enemy lines" over here and my only hope is the conservative party and their young convervative counterpart to the young left wing. Even if the conservative party is more US friendly they stands pretty far from my personal attitude towards the US and the foreign policy. I am in the minority thats true. But I cant tell you how nice it feelt to be right one more time in this issue, one look at our one-sidedness foreign ministers eyes was good for me. I think we had seen a different atmosphere over here towards the US if things had not gone as they did 9/11 2003.

Now they talk about George W Bush as a very underestimated president and person. Heck I didnt hear anything about that before the elections. Then it was the other candidate that was Oooh mama amongs my gov and the established partys except amongs the conservative party then. The only thing that have been missing in our media and the description about another 4 years for president George W Bush has been pictures of him as the devil himselfe with small elk antler on the top of his head. Now suddenly they say that Bush is maby the only one to make peace in Palestine. How fast things can change over night. The EU will also contribute with money to Iraq for its build up and even send help to assure the security in Iraq when election day is up. And all this happens with President George W Bush in office. Sweden is and will remain turn coats. "I fall silent". 8)

One thing obvious is that rifts between US and EU will be wider and that EU will go closer to China/Russia. One of the big actions EU will take next is to lift the arms embargo to China. We will see that happen in the next few months.

I wish I could find the story, and I will and then post a link. The EU has discussed, and I think that they will decide, to back the US in it's endeavor to topple terrorism. The only party from the EU that has opposed this idea was France.

I do not think that Bush will go crazy with power as some have suggested. He is a great leader and lead our country during a time when lesser men would have failed and/or succumbed to the pressure coming from the UN and other political leaders. I stand behind President Bush and applaude him for the job he has done thus far.

I am very proud to see him as the Commander in Chief for another four years.

Speaking as a UK citizen and therefore a European citizen I seriously doubt that this will happen. It would split the EU apart if what you suggest did happen.

new world order..................read orvells book called "1984" its all there,3 "mainlands",big brother.................all

Doppleganger,
I suggest you not to view this new world from the cold war perspective. The world order will change and it will be muti-polar end of the day.

Not only will EU lift sabctions to China, But US itself is losing the control of its export to China. Texas Instruments , SMIC just signed a deal with China to develop 90-nanometer process technologies, which can definitely be used on military purposes signaling the further erosion of the post-Cold War-era pact known as the Wassenaar Arrangement. Intel cried foul and said it was against US legislation. But Intel forgot one thing that what should happen will happen.
