I found jumps from static objects (our initial ones were from a hot air balloon) far harder than normal ones from an aircraft.
Then again peer pressure made it easier as no one was going to chicken out in front of their mates and with others in the que in front and behind it really wasn't an option.

Also getting out of a bumpy, noisy Hercules was preferable to staying.
