I think there was a poll or something on TIME Magazine... said that 2/3rds of the Muslim world in general thought the attack on 9/11 was wrong. That leaves 1/3rd.

That 1/3 is a big problem. What is good about an action that directly led to the USA coming over and, right or wrong, giving the Muslim World a sound beating and substantially altering things there. One article I read while Afganistan was the biggest thing going on interviewed people in Pakistan. The general consensus by the more educated people in Pakistan was that it was all about the poorer, less educated people being gullible. I'm in absolutely no positon to know enough to say whether this is true or not. Obviously, we've found that many Fundamentalist Organizations are at least partly filled of some pretty smart, educated people.
Here's something recent. A Texas court found a fundraising Muslim Organization guilty of funding Hamas -- in this case, the parents of an American young man sued them for financially aiding the organization that murdered their son while he was in the Israel. The parents were awarded $50 million or something close to it (don't have that newspaper in front of me at the moment.) These sorts of organizations need to clean up their act -- bigtime.

we would most likely vote yes.
if you word it more specific. say if US being attacked by iraqi's, then we would vote no.
same thing... sure 2/3 may think 9/11 is wrong (prooves how these people think, 1/3 is an abomination) but change the wording of the poll, and it would be more than 1/3.

My Personal Opinion on the discussion on hand :
I wouldn’t go into what should be changed in Islam ..because coming form a non-muslim country my view could be a little biased at times about them on some things ……….. there would be things that might seem atrocious to me about them and those very things could seem natural to a person coming form a Muslim country.
When a person form Christian or a Hindu or a Sikh or any other faith takes up Arms and kills innocent people we don’t consider him/her a Christian terrorist or a Hindu terrorist respectively ………….but when a Muslim takes up arms he is considered or referred to as a Islamic terrorist or a Muslim terrorist…………..reason for that being there is a notion of a Islamic Brotherhood among most of the Muslim no matter where he lives he/she likes to believe and support a collective Muslim cause ………….that sends out a wrong signal to the other person
Like My religion Comes later ..... I am a Indian first …………and my religious Books and faith are one thing but I am governed by my Constitution not my religious books………….but most of the Muslims around have a notion of One Muslim Brotherhood stretching across boundaries………….and they like to see them rules by sharia the Islamic Law ………..i would like to quote some Islamic Cleric who was ones Interviewed and asked what do you conceived the Supreme the Indian Constitution or the Sharia …….he said “Sharia” ……….second question then who do you accept the Indian Constitution …….he answered “because the constitution obliges to the Sharia “ …………..this is a defining thing to me ………….. this too much involvement of religion .
THE GROUP IDENTITY ……………..this makes people Suspicious about them …………….same was the thing about Soviets a Group Identity and a father nation
All collectively think all the Non – Islamic Countries are after to destroy their religion …….and non-religious conflicts are turned into Islam VS the other
When I referred to Muslims or Islam I am talking in general that dosen’t inclue each and every person for the religion .
Not to mention the there are no real Secular democracies in Muslim world ( as they call it the Muslim world)……………and poverty and Illiteracy is not helping things a little bit either

Cant everybody just give up?
All western countrys can just convert or die, that would solve the problem ones and for all. Make Sharia our law? Why not? Toss everything that is the Europeandream or americandream straight to hell? Why not? There would probably not be any innocent victims if we all embraced Islam with Sharia as the law and as the worlds geostrategic solution nr 1.
And then everybody would be happy? Would we not? Whats wrong with Islam? I dont know anything that is wrong with Islam. Why change something that is so nice and tolerant? There would be democracy would it not? There would be gay marriages would it not? And the women would have director posts and equal wages as the men would they not? And we could listen to Metalica and the media would have free hands to show all scandals amongs the Imans would they not?
I think a world ruled by Islam would be a perfect spot. Yes I think it would be a very positive trend. Islam is a nice religion it is not at all a dangerous religion, all people are nice, there are no terrorists we are the terrorists, because we are just infidels we can die.
Everything on TV that may show a bad side of Islam are just lies there is nothing behind those pictures, and candidates for the Nobel Prize, such as V.S. NAIPAUL author of the book Beyond Belief, he just hate Islam and muslims and dont know what the heck he is writing or talking about, He is probably a professor in Hate today, just look at his eyes -brown- full of shit, dont even think they get the price because there is some truth in their books.
And people like Salman Rushdie and his book The Satanic Verses are just evil lies and thats why he got a death sentence over his head in Iran. Nice people! yes, there are no fundamentalists or terrorists the whole thing is just a group thing :lol:
