BAGHDAD, Iraq - (AP) A U.S. Marine helicopter fired two rockets
Saturday into an insurgent hide-out in the western city of Ramadi and killed six militants, the U.S. military said.
Marine spokesman Capt. Jeffrey Pool said U.S. Army soldiers clashed with the militants shortly after 11 a.m. near the soccer stadium in Ramadi,
115 kilometers (70 miles) west of Baghdad.
"A Marine Corps AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter fired two missiles into the abandoned building the insurgents were holed up in," Pool said. "Six insurgents were killed and another wounded from the air strike."
Pool said the wounded insurgent was taken to a military hospital for treatment and will be questioned.
Ramadi is the capital of the volatile Anbar province and is a hotbed of insurgent activity where U.S. forces and militants clash almost daily.
