This seems like the logical first step in the creation of a

Definitely a step in the right direction !

If only the UK was still in the EU…..
I think it largely depends on whether France, Poland and Germany (Germany in particular as them seem entirely spineless at the moment) can get their act together and really push it as I suspect the rest of Europe will follow.

There will be political change in Germany soon and disaster that is Scholz will be a distant memory !

Agreed !

It’ll probably be a coalition led by the CDU party.
I am finding German politics a little concerning, on one hand you have the AfD who are for all intents and purposes the NAZI party in denial (to the point I do not know how they haven't been banned) and on the other hand you have the BSW who seem like a cross between the far left and far right both parties have seen a growth in popularity and it concerns me a little bit that they have growing popularity and common ground (specifically around immigration) which could lead to an alliance.

Politically it looks as though the SPD support is in decline as currently the CDU/CSU/SPD alliance still would not have 50%, they would require the Greens to have a decent working majority, the AfD/BSW combined are around 26% but if BSW results in state elections earlier are an indication of popularity then combined they would be over 30%.

Is it feasible that Poland could take over Germany's role in Europe given Germany seems pretty reticent to maintain it?
