Got bored - made a crap solar still

I got bored so I went out in the back yard and made this crappy solar still in complete darkness. I only got to see how it really looked when I took a photo of it with flash.

Who knows if I'll have any water by tomorrow evening.

Yeah I was. It rained last night but the still didn't break. Rain water didn't get in so anything collected would be distilled water. Woohoo.

What you're looking at is a way to get water out of the air and soil.
Basically you put a container in a hole and put a plastic sheet on top with a weight above the cup/container to make a gentle V shape. In about a day you should have some fresh water in your cup.
This is a useful way to get water where water sources are scarce or contaminated. Also useful if you want to get safe drinking water but you can't boil because you can't set up a fire because it's just too humid.
Just wanted to see what the results would be around here.
How much water you get depends on the difference in temperature between night and day and humidity. Basically you're using evaporation and condensation to work for you.
