I was looking at some sites about the new Navy Working Uniform (the digital blue one) and I was just thinking about its survivability. If I was on a sinking ship in battle conditions, I think the last thing I'd want is to be in boots with bloused trousers.
If you were in shoes, you could kick them off and take off your trousers to make a flotation device. But you can't just kick off boots; seems like it'll make survival more difficult...
I don't have any practical experiences with abandon ship drills (except for a sample of drown-proofing) or swimming in boots, so do you veterans have any light to shed on this issue?
